Who Chose Your Blind Fold?

However, within, she constantly felt a sense of hollowness, like a dull, numb lump. No one knew the real her and she was scared of being different, of being flawed. All through from her teenage she lived with an internal turmoil that was killing. She was clearly trying to fit in when she was meant to stand out.
Norms had always bothered her. While they were intended to bring in order, she loathed how instead it turned around to create stereotypical labels.
She was a woman attracted to another woman. As simple as it seemed to her, that complex it was made by people around. Her voice was never heard because the words were never uttered. And the words were never uttered because she was scared they lay outside the boundaries of acceptance.
Today, 3 years ago, she had survived a near fatal accident. The universe had kept her goodbye to the planet onto the back burner. She was kept alive for a reason and she trusted that. Her task was undone, goal incomplete and purpose not achieved.

The devastating incident had a beautiful outcome. It was time for the world to listen to the hushed voice, of hers and others like her. She carved a new path for herself and for the society.

She had chosen to be a teacher. Along with her partner she started a school. The riches in her life had found their place. Two strong women on a mission and with a fierce determination couldn’t go wrong. They had to avenge the society for all the wrongs thrown at them and they would do it in their way.

An educator she knew had the greatest impact on young minds. They nurtured tender souls and shaped their confidence. The role had to embrace all humans alike.
Today she was a doer; the kind of go-getter she always wanted to be.
In her happy village, no one differentiated between those who chose toys in the pink aisle over the blue.

She stood up blindfolded to the rules that society had laid.
